During Phil's doctoral studies in 2019, he interviewed dozens of leaders around the world and was surprised by the prevalence and destructiveness associated with feelings of superiority and inferiority among them. It propelled Phil into research and a fascination with the topic of humility, especially as applied to effective leadership (as well as making him aware of his own need for humility). Along with others who have caught the vision, we’ve become convinced that organizations around the world could significantly expand their impact by leadership teams intentionally cultivating humility. In 2021, promoteHumility was incorporated as a nonprofit in Illinois.
